Introduction of morning glory planting technology

Introduction to Morning Glory Planting Techniques:

Morning glories thrive in well-drained soil, full sunlight, and a well-ventilated area. During the growing season, water the plants when the top layer of soil feels slightly dry. Apply liquid fertilizer every two weeks, but avoid excessive nitrogen to prevent overly lush foliage. It’s important to provide support for potted morning glories using stakes or trellises.

Morning glories are ideal for vertical gardening on fences, as well as for container planting and garden terraces. Start planting in early April using a mix of regular potting soil and sand in pots with an inner diameter of about 13 cm. Sow 4 to 5 seeds per pot. Since the seed coat is thick and germination can be slow, you may gently nick the top of the seed with a knife to speed up the process. After sowing, keep the soil at around 25°C and expect germination within about 7 days. Once the seedlings have developed two cotyledons and are strong enough, transplant them into individual pots.

When the seedlings have 6 to 7 true leaves, transplant them into larger pots (about 24 cm in diameter). Use a nutrient-rich potting mix and add 50 grams of hoof meal as a base fertilizer. Water thoroughly after planting. Insert a 1-meter-long bamboo pole in the center of the pot. Then, wrap a 3-meter-long wire around the pole, spiraling upward to create a tower-like structure. Secure the top end of the wire to the top of the bamboo pole. Morning glories grow counterclockwise, so make sure the wire is twisted in the same direction to guide the vines properly. When the main vine reaches the top, pinch off the tip to encourage branching. For side vines that grow to 6 to 7 leaves, remove the tip to promote more blooms and continuous flowering.
