HC Plastics News: Fujian Province has abundant graphite resources and a wide application market, and its research and development capabilities are constantly improving. The industrial system has taken shape and has the conditions to accelerate the development of the graphene industry. The graphene industry development plan of Fujian Province (2017-2025) was recently launched, and Yong'an City was positioned as a high-end graphite and graphene industrial cluster.
Graphene is a new type of two-dimensional carbon material with excellent light transmittance, high thermal conductivity, high electron mobility and low electrical resistivity. It is one of the thinnest and hardest nanomaterials that have been discovered in electronics. Information, aerospace, high-end equipment, new energy, environmental protection and other fields have great application potential.
High-quality graphite is one of the important raw materials for graphene. As of 2016, there are 15 proven graphite mines in Fujian Province, and the accumulated crystalline (scale) graphite and cryptocrystalline (microcrystalline) graphite reserves exceed 3 million tons. It is mainly composed of cryptocrystalline (microcrystalline) graphite and has a reserve of 1.374 million tons.
The mineral deposits in Fujian Province are mainly distributed in Sanming, Longyan and Nanping. Among them, Yong'an is the main graphite storage area in southern China.
The plan is clear, based on the overall strategy of Fujian's economic development and the main functional area positioning, based on the existing graphene industry foundation, combined with the local scientific and technological talent conditions, market demand, resource advantages and environmental carrying capacity, to create Fuzhou and Xiamen as the core areas of innovation, Xiamen Torch High-tech Zone, Quanzhou Jinjiang and Sanming Yong'an are the “two cores and three districts†industrial development pattern of industrial clusters.
Among them, Yongan is positioned as a high-end graphite and graphene industrial gathering area, relying on rich graphite resources, supported by Tsinghua University, Xiamen University, China Aerospace and other industry-university research platforms, focusing on the development of graphite anode materials, static graphite, nuclear graphite. Preparation of high-end graphite and graphene, expanding applications in downstream fields such as lithium battery, energy storage, rubber modification, construction of Yong'an graphite and graphene industrial park, graphite characteristic town, and gradually forming industrial agglomeration.
According to the plan, Fujian will build a graphene service support system construction project, including innovative R&D platform, including Yongan Graphite and Graphene Engineering Research Center; and Shuanghuang Service Platform, including Yongan Carbon Material R&D Center and Technology Innovation Incubation Base.
The plan also clarified the safeguard measures for accelerating the development of graphene industry, such as promoting the accumulation of resources such as technology, capital and talents to the “two cores and three districtsâ€, guiding the project to concentrate in the park, and encouraging existing graphene enterprises to implement environmentally safe relocation and retreat into the city. The park will form the scale effect of the development of regional characteristic industries; increase financial support for major projects, platform construction, talent introduction, independent intellectual property protection, standard setting, etc.; increase support for the protection of production factors of graphene industry, Establish a coordination and guarantee mechanism to give priority to the priority of the provincial-level identified graphene projects.
