In recent years, incidents such as toxic kidney beans and formaldehyde-laced cabbages have raised widespread concern about the misuse of highly toxic pesticides. Despite regulations introduced by the State Council in 2001 and updated in 2010, along with various local measures, the abuse of these harmful chemicals in fruits and vegetables remains a pressing issue. During the National Food Safety Awareness Week from June 17 to June 27, a reporter from “The Economy Half Hour†traveled to Shaanxi Province, a major agricultural region, to investigate one of its key vegetable bases—Weinan City—with a focus on the use of hazardous pesticides.
In the southern Fujian agricultural product market, located in the Qinchuan area, over 100 pesticide shops were found selling highly toxic substances. These stores operated without proper oversight, allowing unrestricted sales without requiring certification or real-name registration. A reporter visited one store and was directly recommended a restricted pesticide called “Oxygen**,†which is known to be extremely dangerous. The shop owner claimed it could be used on any vegetable or fruit tree, despite clear warnings on the label that it should only be used for seed dressing or cotton treatment.
Another pesticide, “3911,†was also encountered in the same store. This banned substance, known for its severe toxicity, was openly sold without any restrictions. The shopkeeper insisted it wasn’t classified as highly toxic, and no documentation was required. This pattern repeated across multiple stores, where high-risk pesticides were available without checks, undermining safety protocols.
In Hua County, an important vegetable base in Weinan, farmers were seen spraying pesticides indiscriminately, often at high frequencies. Discarded pesticide containers littered the fields, and even hazardous waste packaging was left unmanaged. Farmers admitted to using highly toxic pesticides on crops meant for sale, while reserving safer produce for their own consumption. They cited cost-effectiveness and effectiveness as reasons for continued use, despite knowing the risks.
Experts like Jiang Gaoming, a renowned botanist, emphasize that China’s excessive use of pesticides has led to severe environmental and health consequences. Pesticide residues are widespread, and the misuse has contributed to rising cancer rates and other health issues. He highlights the need for better education and support for farmers to adopt eco-friendly practices, rather than relying on cheap, dangerous chemicals.
Despite strict regulations, enforcement remains weak, and many farmers continue to use banned pesticides due to lack of alternatives and economic pressures. The situation reflects a systemic failure in monitoring and regulation, leaving consumers vulnerable to unsafe food products. The problem extends beyond individual actions, pointing to deeper issues in policy implementation and public awareness. Addressing this crisis requires stronger oversight, increased investment in sustainable farming, and greater consumer demand for safe, high-quality produce.
CBN Grinding Wheels
CBN is a man-made Superabrasive that
outperforms Diamond when used for Ferrous grinding operations.
CBN derives its name from its chemical
makeup, of the cubic form of boron nitride (CBN). It has a very desirable
characteristic that is sought after when working with difficult to grind (DTG)
materials.
Due to its high thermal stability and
chemical resistance, the CBN grinding wheel is most suitable for grinding hard
ferrous materials, hardened steel, bearing steel, nickel based
alloys. machining ferrous materials.
CBN Grinding Wheels are used to sharpen,
cut, or remove metal from hard surfaces. Use these wheels when you need a good
consistent finish.
Most notably CBN wheels are used to cut HSS
metals, like wood tools, blades, bits, and cutters. This type of steel is
better than the older high-carbon steel because it can withstand higher
temperatures. When you`re tools become dull over time from use, a CBN wheel
will bring them back to its sharp use.
Kemei produce CBN(cubic boron nitride)grinding
wheels, which can be resin bonded CBN wheel, metal bonded CBN wheels and
electroplated Diamond Grinding Wheels. For same steel parts, you can choose all
three types CBN wheels, but there still some difference, if you need more
information and the best solutions ,please contact us.
