Overall overview of production and sales: In May, China's automobile production was 2.064 million, down 5.08% from the previous month and up 5.01% year-on-year; sales were 2.0917 million units, down 1.66% from the previous month and up 9.75% year-on-year. Among them: passenger car production decreased by 3.68%, up 5.53% year-on-year; sales increased by 0.52% quarter-on-quarter and 11.27% year-on-year. Commercial vehicle production decreased by 12.73%, up by 1.98% year-on-year; sales decreased by 13.01% quarter-on-quarter and 1.40% year-on-year.
From January to May, the production and sales of automobiles were 10.8455 million and 10.7552 million, an increase of 5.75% and 6.96%, an increase of 2.57 percentage points and 4.85 percentage points respectively over the same period of the previous year. Compared with last month, the sales of Great Wall, Changan, SAIC and FAW have declined, and other companies have increased. Chery's growth rate is more obvious. In May, the total sales of ten companies accounted for 88.98% of the total vehicle sales.
