Each row of the spreadsheet contains a standard size parameter that can be used to generate a read-only standard file of the specified specification, which is a "subfile" in the component family.
This method is to take advantage of the parameterization of 3D design software. In the 3D design software, the Excel spreadsheet program is directly used, and various specifications and size parameters of the standard parts are made into a table, and then the data between the 3D design software and Excel is utilized. The interface drives the entity file to get the standard part file of the specified specification. This method is simple and practical, in line with design habits, and is most suitable for SMEs.
The secondary development is to develop a dedicated standard parts library using the secondary development interface provided by the design software (such as OPEN/API of UG software). This standard library has a friendly human-machine interface that can be embedded into software tool buttons. However, this method usually needs to be developed using a high-level programming language such as C++. Ordinary mold designers have no development capabilities and can only find professional software designers to do it.
In addition, this standard parts library is completely encapsulated. Once problems are found, the source files need to be modified, and ordinary mold designers cannot complete them. Therefore, although many large enterprises have invested a lot of money to develop a dedicated standard parts library, the use effect is not satisfactory.
