SGL and Mitsubishi Rayon launch carbon fiber yarn

In mid-April, MRC SGL Prosthesis Co., Ltd. (MSP), a joint venture between SGL Group–The Carbon Company, the world’s leading manufacturer of carbon graphite materials and related products, and Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd. has successfully launched And start production of carbon fiber precursors on time. The joint venture plant in Otake, Japan has not been affected by the previous Japanese earthquake.

The joint venture company has already passed the trial operation stage and started the industrial production of carbon fiber precursors. The MSP joint venture plant is located at Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd.'s production base in Otake, Japan, and will provide the first batch of PAN-based raw wires to SGL ACF in the second quarter of this year.
