30% Teflon WP, commonly known as fluconazole, is an imidazole-based fungicide. It is a broad-spectrum systemic fungicide that offers both protective and curative effects. This product is effective in controlling a wide range of fungal diseases such as powdery mildew and rust in vegetables like cucumbers, tomatoes, and strawberries. Additionally, it demonstrates strong efficacy against pathogens that are resistant to other fungicides.
One of the key advantages of 30% Teflon WP is its fast-acting nature combined with long-lasting residual activity. It provides comprehensive protection by preventing, treating, and eradicating fungal infections. Its strong penetration ability ensures deep coverage on plant surfaces, while its resistance to rain makes it ideal for regular preventive spraying or when disease outbreaks occur. The product can effectively kill fungi that have already invaded the plant tissue. Moreover, it is compatible with most insecticides and acaricides, allowing for flexible application in integrated pest management strategies.
In vegetable cultivation, 30% Teflon WP is widely used for the control of powdery mildew on various crops. For example, it can be applied at a dilution of 1500–2000 times during the early stages of infection on cucumbers, bitter gourds, pumpkins, and tomatoes. For zucchini powdery mildew, a 2000–3000 times dilution is recommended at the onset of symptoms. Similarly, cowpea powdery mildew can be controlled using a 2000 times solution, while onion powdery mildew should be treated with a 1500 times dilution. To manage powdery mildew in peas, a 5000 times dilution is advised. For cowpea rust, a 2000 times solution is effective during the initial phase of the disease. Corn gray spot disease can be managed by applying a 5000–7000 times dilution at the early stage of infection.
When using 30% Teflon WP, it's important to follow best practices for optimal results. Spraying should begin at the first sign of disease and repeated every 10 days or so, depending on the severity. It is best to apply the product in the early morning or late evening when there is no wind and temperatures are lower. Avoid spraying between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM on sunny days. If the temperature exceeds 28°C, relative humidity drops below 65%, or wind speed exceeds 4 meters per second, it is advisable to pause application. The safety interval is 2 days, and the maximum number of applications per growing season should not exceed two. It is also recommended to avoid mixing this product with chlorpyrifos or other fungicides with similar modes of action. Any leftover pesticide should not be disposed of in water bodies or agricultural areas, and containers should be handled and disposed of properly to prevent environmental contamination.
